Galaxie, Your Musical Universe, presented a Galaxie Rising Star Award to Darren Sigesmund at the 31st edition of the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Darren Sigesmund received a $5,000 monetary award to assist in the pursuit of his musical career.

The objective of this program is to help provide opportunities for emerging Canadian music talent in all genres to be heard and to support the best of this talent with cash bursaries to advance their careers.

Galaxie, Your Musical Universe, is proud to partner with the 25th annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. As official sponsors of the The Galaxie Series at Performance Works, Galaxie is delighted to offer free outdoorconcerts at Performance Works on Granville Island. This exciting series is sure to please all and showcase great jazz musicians. In addition, through the Galaxie Rising Stars Program, two up-and-coming artists will be awarded bursaries of $2,500 each.
