André Rhéaume

Jazz connoisseurs know they can trust André Rhéaume to introduce them to the most exciting music in the genre. He has long been involved with many of the country’s main jazz events, including the JUNO Awards, ADISQ, National Jazz Awards, International Jazz Festivals in Montreal and Vancouver, West Coast Jazz Awards and others. He has also been a key player behind such shows as Jazz sur le vif, XY Jazz, Silence... on jazz. As executive producer for live recordings during jazz events, he has worked with most of today’s great names in jazz such as Charlie Haden, Bill Frisell, McCoy Tyner, Terence Blanchard, Brad Mehldau and Michel Donato. For the past 25 years, André has been sharing his passion for West Coast music and musicians from around the world on Radio-Canada’s popular radio show Ici Vancouver (broadcasted on Espace Musique). This unparallel musical journey features undiscovered jazz gems from André's extensive collection. “At the heart of this music we call “jazz”, is a relationship with legacy,” notes André. “The jazz of today, whether it is introspective or extroverted continues the relationship while trying to invent a new path for itself.”
